Jarrett grew up in Texas and enlisted in the Army as a Korean linguist and intelligence analyst at the age of 22. After completion of basic training, Jarrett attended the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey, California, where he graduated from the Korean course with an Associate of Arts degree in Korean. Jarrett completed his Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts through Excelsior College while attending the Signal Intelligence Analyst course. While serving as an intelligence analyst at the National Security Agency, Hawaii, Jarrett completed a MS in Criminal Justice. Jarrett transitioned out of the military in 2016, and has since been pursuing additional graduate education at the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. Specifically, Jarrett studies clinical social work, and he aspires to curb recidivism among reintegrating offenders through the provision of mental health and advocacy services.
