Biography

Audrey Hsieh completed a eight-year career in the U.S. Army in 2012 where she served as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (CBRN) and Psychological Operations officer. As a CBRN officer, she deployed with 7th Special Forces Group to Kandahar, Afghanistan to establish a new Forward Operating Laboratory for captured materiel in raids. As a PSYOP officer, she led small teams in Iraq and Yemen. She misses the Airborne community tremendously, but recognizes her knees thank her for retiring that lifestyle. Following ETS, she began graduate studies at Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and earned her Master of Arts in Security Studies in 2014. Through graduate school, she earned a competitive Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) to work at the Department of State and has been blessed to fulfill a second career in public service. Through the PMF program, she has worked on detainee resettlement issues at Guantanamo Bay, weaseled out nefarious transactions in US munition commercial sales and seen diplomacy up close while assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados. A New Jersey native, she received her BA in International Studies from The College of New Jersey in 2004
