Andrew Ertl is a defense and foreign policy staffer for the United States House of Representatives. Prior to that, he was an active duty US Marine for six years, during which time he deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, and then spent his final three years of active duty stationed at US embassies. Andrew then received a BA in History from Columbia University where he continued his global exploration; in particular to selective, sponsored academic trips to Japan, Israel, and then Kazakhstan. Andrew then embarked on his first graduate program at Tsinghua University through the Schwarzman Scholars Program, earning a Master’s of Management Science in Global Affairs. He then began a second graduate program at the University of Oxford, earning a Master’s of Public Policy. Andrew looks forward to continuing a life of service.
