After eight and half years as a Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman, Anthony separated from the Navy to pursue his career goal of becoming a Medical Doctor. Less than one month after separating from the Navy, Anthony was accepted to Columbia University.Anthony’s Navy career consisted of two and half years of training with the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. Upon earning the title of Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman, Anthony was sent to 3D Reconnaissance Battalion in Okinawa, Japan. Anthony deployed with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and several multinational contingency operations. In 2011, Anthony deployed to Upper Sangin Valley, Helmand Province, Afghanistan as a Company Leading Petty Officer and Platoon Corpsman. After returning home from deployment Anthony was given orders to be a High-Risk Instructor with the Marine Corps Combatant Diver Course and Diving Medicine for Medical Personnel Course. Anthony has attended several military schools and received several awards. He is most proud of earning a Navy Commendation Medal w/ Valor, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
