Lieutenant David “Ben” Maddox, is a member of the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and currently assigned to the staff of Commandant, Naval District Washington as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate in Washington, DC. There, he advises the Regional Commander on military justice, personnel law, investigations, and administrative law. Previously, he served as counsel in Yokosuka, Japan and San Diego, California. Prior to the legal profession, he started a consulting firm, co-founded an education political action committee, and taught algebra and coached football with the Teach for America program along the Texas-Mexico border.
In 2019, LT Maddox was selected as a Presidential Leadership Scholar and received the American Bar Association Top 40 Young Lawyers award. He is currently enrolled in the Naval War College Graduate Degree Program to complete a master of arts degree in defense and strategic studies with an Asia-Pacific concentration. LT Maddox holds degrees from the University of Texas School of Law, The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University, and Baylor University.
