Chris graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2009 with a B.S. in Political Science with a concentration in International Politics and Law. He commissioned into the Marine Corps and served as a Military Police officer. His initial assignments were in Okinawa, Japan as a Platoon Commander and Executive Officer, deploying numerous times between 2010 and 2012 to Afghanistan, Philippines, Thailand, New Caledonia and others. Chris served as a Company Commander for two years assigned to Weapons Battalion at Parris Island. A most recent distinguished graduate of the Army Captain Career Course, he was also awarded the LTC Orlando Leadership Award. Chris was selected for a Law Education Program (ELP) through the Marine Corps and will pursue his JD at the University of Tennessee College of Law before returning to the Fleet as a Judge Advocate. Additionally, he holds an M.A. in Management and Leadership from Webster University.
