Dan grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended Harvard College where he received an A.B. in Economics and commissioned from Army ROTC in 2009. He then attended the UC Berkeley School of Law, focusing on business law. He graduated with a J.D. in 2012, passed the California bar examination, and was selected for the Army JAG Corps. He practiced government contract litigation and procurement law in the Army Corps of Engineers Military Honors Program in Washington, D.C. and served as a White House Social Aide. He left active duty in February 2017 and is a member of Wharton’s class of 2019.
