Erik McCaffrey was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and spent most of his childhood outdoors on his father’s cattle ranch. Erik earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and commissioned in the United States Army as an Infantry Lieutenant in 2010. After attending Infantry Basic and Ranger School, Erik was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division and deployed as a Platoon Leader to Ghazni, Afghanistan for his first deployment. After being promoted to Company Executive Officer, Erik attended the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program where he was hired to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment as an Operations Officer for the Regimental Reconnaissance Company. During his time in the Ranger Regiment, Erik was deployed two more times to Afghanistan and once to the Horn of Africa. Erik left the Army in 2017 and was accepted into Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management where he will pursue his MBA beginning in the Fall of 2018. Erik is interested in pursuing a career in management consulting after graduation.
