Jonny Kim, MD, is a resident physician at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Jonny found his calling in medicine during his service as a Navy SEAL medic in the post-9/11 wars, where he was inspired by the skill and devotion of the doctors who saved his teammate’s lives. Following his service, he attended the University of San Diego and graduated with a B.A. summa cum laude in mathematics in 2012 and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 2016.A proud Tillman Scholar, Jonny understands the impact military veterans can have as future leaders in healthcare, and is committed to helping veterans reach that potential. He is intimately familiar with the medical school application process and is passionate in mentoring veterans and undergraduate students who wish to pursue a fulfilling career in medicine. Jonny has helped numerous veterans successfully transition to a career in medicine. He is also an advocate for veteran’s health care, one of many populations he feels is at high risk for health care disparities. He continues his passion for healthcare, education and veteran advocacy at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency.
