Joshua Fiveson is a senior appellate counsel with the Appellate Government Division of the Navy’s Office of the Judge Advocate General. Prior to active duty, Fiveson served as a judicial law clerk for Judge Ohlson at the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and Chief Justice Hecht at the Supreme Court of Texas. He has worked extensively with the United States Department of Justice—in both the Criminal Division’s Office of International Affairs and the National Security Division’s Counterterrorism Section—and previously served as a fellow at the Institute of World Politics, the University of Virginia Law School’s National Security Law Institute, Georgetown Law School’s Center for the Constitution, the Claremont Institute, the James Wilson Institute, the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government’s Center for Public Leadership. Fiveson received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.S. from George Mason University.
