Karlos graduated from Florida International University Chapman School of Business with a M.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Business. After leaving college in 2009, Karlos enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a submariner in the nuclear rate and served for eight years until 2017 almost entirely under a single duty station, the USS Georgia. On the tail-end of service, Karlos applied to several law schools. After being accepted by a handful of schools, including Brooklyn Law School, Karlos compared offers and ultimately decided to attend Brooklyn Law School. While maintaining an above-median GPA, Karlos has actively engaged in extracurricular legal activities, including Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, Unemployment Action Center, and the Brooklyn Business Law Association. Karlos is very proud to have summered his 1L summer with the Jewish Association Serving the Aging defending the elderly in housing cases. He is very excited to spend his 2L summer with the Department of Justice in Washington. Currently, Karlos, his wife Yvonne, and his son live in Brooklyn, NY, where they are very happy.
