Lawrence Camacho

“Lawrence is the dean of Enrollment Management and Student Success at the University of Guam, responsible for: Recruitment Operations; Admissions and Records; Financial Aid; Student Life; Student Health; Student Counseling & Academic Advisement; Student Residence Life; Student Government; TRIO programs (Educational Talent Search, Student Success, Upward Bound); Student Career Development; and is also the Executive Director of the UOG AmeriCorps Volunteer Center. Additionally, he oversees all of the institution’s First Year Experience Courses. Prior to his retirement from 21 years of active duty service in the Army, he served as Professor of Military Science and Leadership at Drexel University (host), also servicing University of Pennsylvania, St. Joseph’s University, La Salle University, Philadelphia University of the Sciences, and Thomas Jefferson University.
He is a Doctoral Candidate at Drexel University, and holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from University of Louisville; a Master of Arts in Leadership and Liberal Studies from Duquesne University; and a Master of Military Arts and Science from the Command and General Staff College. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Guam and Associate of Arts from Pasadena City College. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College; Combined Arms Services Staff School; Combined Logistics Officer’s Advanced Course; Ordnance Officer Basic Course; Support Operations Officer Course; and Defense Institute for Security Assistance Management.
He served as platoon leader; company commander; battalion commander; foreign military sales and financing advisor; brigade logistics officer; and support operations officer. He served with various units such as: 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment; 1st Cavalry Division; 3rd Infantry Division; 501st Sustainment Brigade; 7th Transportation Brigade (Expeditionary). He also served at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) as Assistant Professor of Military Science.
