Marco Segura

While in high school, Marco attended the American Legion Boys State. During this program his devotion to country and to public service started. Inspired by the sacrifices and contributions made by his family, Marco wanted to give back to his country by enlisting in the military, however, his immigration status did not allow him to do so. After years waiting to become a U.S. citizen, Marco joined the U.S. Navy carrying the legacy of service in his family. Marco is stationed in San Jose, CA where he is the Funeral Honors Coordinator at NOSC San Jose.

Marco’s relentless pursuit to impact people’s lives pushed him to get admitted to and attend law school as a night student. As part of a handful of enlisted active duty sailors in law school, he has characterized himself as an accessible advisor to his fellow sailors. He has learned to win the trust and the respect of the sailors he works with and has seen firsthand the way legal knowledge can impact service members’ lives. Marco’s goal of providing effective representation to sailors in the future has been paramount in his legal pursuit.

With this goal in mind, he has prepared himself by acquiring various skills and gaining personal experiences that will serve him well while representing sailors. Marco understands that everyone in uniform and their families deserve the chance to be effectively represented by caring and capable lawyers. Marco hopes to embody this passion of service as a Navy JAG.
