Mark Van Benschoten is an honor graduate from the United States Military Academy with Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Military History. In 2014, he was commissioned as an Army Finance Officer. During his time in the army, Mark deployed to Kuwait as a brigade budget officer in support of Operation Spartan Shield in 2015. In 2016, he deployed to Afghanistan as a disbursing officer in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. Upon redeployment, he assumed the duties of a finance executive officer in Fort Carson, Colorado. After successfully passing the 75th Ranger Regiment’s Ranger Assessment and Selection Program 2, Mark was selected to serve as the 1st Ranger Battalion’s budget officer at Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia from 2018-2019. After graduating from Captain’s Career Course in 2020, Mark served as a commander for a finance unit in Fort Riley, Kansas where he led a detachment through a deploy-in-place mission providing contract support across Afghanistan. Mark is currently an MBA candidate at the Carlson School of Management and is pursuing a career in corporate finance in the Twin Cities after graduation in May 2023.
