Matthew enlisted in the United States Army in 2002 as a Forward Observer and deployed with the 82nd Airborne Division in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. After redeploying, he attended the United States Military Academy, graduated with honors in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Military History, and commissioned as an Army Aviation Officer. After learning to fly the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior in flight school, Matthew assessed for and was selected for the 160th Special Operations Regiment (Airborne), deployed several times to worldwide locations as a forward detachment commander and MH-47G Chinook Pilot, and became a CH-47F Instructor Pilot. He recently successfully completed command of the Active Army’s only Graduate-Level Chinook Training Company. Matthew is passionate about helping transitioning veterans find opportunities in the business world. After transitioning, He will pursue an MBA in Leadership and Organizational Behavior at the Fisher College of Business (The Ohio State University) and will graduate in 2019.
