Matthew Cowsert

Matt graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, in 2009 and commissioned into the United States Army as an Infantry Officer, with a follow-on branch detail as a Finance Officer. His first assignment was at the National Training Center with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (ACR) at Fort Irwin, California. During his time in the 11th ACR, Matt served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Scout Platoon Leader, and Company Executive Officer, training Soldiers for their deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Upon promotion to Captain and the completion of his Finance training, Matt joined the 130th Engineer Brigade out of Schofield Barracks, HI. As a Brigade Budget Officer, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and helped facilitate the deconstruction efforts of U.S. bases during the Afghanistan troop drawdown. Upon redeployment, Matt finished his time in the Army as a Budget Analyst for the U.S. Army Pacific Command’s Army International Security Cooperation Program. Matt is a member of NYU Stern’s 2018 full-time program and Co-President of the Stern Technology Association. He interned at Amazon this past summer as a Senior Product Manager within Amazon’s Consumer Engagement organization. Post-graduation, he will be working full-time as a Senior PM at Amazon in Seattle.
