Matthew James is currently a Vice President at Bank of America under the Global Equities Financing team. He joined the firm in 2015 through the Global Banking and Markets (GBAM) Veterans Associate Program (VAP), based in New York, NY. Matthew James is a registered representative with BofA Securities, Inc. and drives strategic projects supporting the firm’s hedge fund and market-maker client base. Prior to working in finance, Matthew James served as an active-duty Army intelligence officer. His military career includes past assignments with the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, the 10th Mountain Division, U.S. Army North Headquarters, and a deployment overseas in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Matthew James also serves on the Enterprise leadership team for the Military Support & Assistance Group (MSAG), the bank’s employee resource network of employees, veterans, spouses, and military supporters. He is a board member on the Veteran Leadership Development Group, a nonprofit which strives to be the foremost professional network for post-9/11 veterans. Matthew James graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Management and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.
