Mike Stelma is originally from Boston, Massachusetts. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps through the Naval ROTC program. After graduating from The Basic School and Infantry Officer’s Course in 2013, Mike was assigned to Third Battalion, Fifth Marines where he served as a rifle platoon commander and deployed to the Southeast Pacific. Upon return from his first deployment, Mike was re-assigned to Second Battalion, Fifth Marines where he served as a Combined Anti-Armor Team platoon commander and deployed for a second time to the Southeast Pacific. In July 2016, Mike was transferred to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, California where he served as a series commander, Commanding Officer of Company L, and Assistant Director of Drill Instructor School. Mike is attending the University of California Los Angeles, Anderson School of Management’s Fully-Employed MBA Program with the class of 2022. He will begin working full-time in the private sector upon discharge from active duty in November 2019. Mike is a wine and beer aficionado and enjoys surfing, golfing, and skiing.
