Ryan began his military service in 2006 by enlisting in the Texas National Guard as an infantryman. He was later commissioned through Texas A&amp;M University’s Army ROTC program where he also received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Following undergrad, Ryan enrolled at South Texas College of Law in Houston. Between his second and third year of law school Ryan deployed to Afghanistan as an advisor to Afghan National Security Forces. Upon his return, he graduation from law school and moved to Austin to served as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Texas. Ryan separated from the military as a Captain in 2015 and now works in private practice. He is married and has an extremely energetic puppy named Hank.
