Sam Walenz

Sam received a B.S. in International and Comparative Law and commissioned from the United States Military Academy in 2009 as an Armor Lieutenant. After graduation, he served as an Athletic Intern in West Point’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, where he assisted in managing the day to day operations of the Army Golf Team and helped recruit high school athletes to gain admission to West Point. Following his time as an athletic intern, he served as a dismounted reconnaissance platoon leader, troop executive officer, and as an assistant operations officer and advisor for an advisory team at Fort Drum, NY. Sam deployed twice to Afghanistan, once to Kandahar Province as a Platoon Leader and once to Wardak Province as an advisor to the Afghan National Army and Police. Sam is currently a law student at the Florida State University College of Law. After graduation, he will serve as a clerk to the Honorable Robert Hinkle, Senior U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Florida, and then as an associate attorney at Eversheds Sutherland (U.S.), LLP, in Atlanta, Georgia.
