Capt Steven Arango is currently a student at the Naval Justice School (NJS) in Newport, Rhode Island.
Prior to NJS, Capt Arango attended The Basic School in Quantico, VA for six months. He also has served as a law clerk for a U.S. district judge in the Southern District of Texas. Before his clerkship, Capt Arango worked for the U.S. House of Representatives and Department of Defense in the Office of General Counsel, International Affairs.
Capt Arango is the co-founder of Law Clerks for Diversity, an organization that focuses on increasing the diversity of law clerks in the federal judiciary through mentorship and other resources.
Because of his military and legal training, Capt Arango has always pushed himself to develop professionally. As a result, he has published numerous articles ranging from foreign policy and international affairs to legal questions surrounding 21st century technology. He has also written for the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Fox News, and the Marine Corps Gazette.
Capt Arango holds a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, and a B.S. in Business Administration, with a minor in Spanish, from Newberry College.
