Tomo graduated from Tufts University in 2011 with a B.A. in International Relations and a minor in Arabic and commissioned from the MIT Army ROTC program as a Military Intelligence officer in the Army Reserve. He was deployed to Afghanistan from 2012 to 2013, and was mobilized to support the Office of Military Commissions from 2016 to 2017. In his civilian career, he received a M.A. in Security Studies from Georgetown University and spent a year as a New Sector Alliance AmeriCorps fellow at a nonprofit serving people with disabilities experiencing homelessness. He is a member of the Yale Law School class of 2020.
