Augusto Giacoman, Co-Founder
Gus completed his undergraduate degree and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry from the US Military Academy at West Point. As an officer in the US Army he served as a platoon leader, an executive officer, and an operations officer. In these roles he focused on a variety of projects, from analyzing human terrain in Sadr City, Iraq to negotiating training objectives with members of the Georgian Land Forces in Tbilisi, Georgia. He is an alum of the New York University Stern School of Business and works at the management consultancy Strategy&, where he works with the world’s top businesses, governments, and institutions to create essential advantage and outpace competitors.
Khalil Tawil, Co-Founder
Khalil grew up in Gilbert, Arizona and is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he received a B.S. in Economics and was commissioned in the Infantry. Upon graduation, he studied for an M.A. in Economics from the American University in Cairo on a Fulbright Scholarship. During his military service, he deployed three times to Afghanistan. He enjoys traveling, literature, foreign policy, playing soccer, and ping pong. A Pat Tillman Scholar and Paul and Daisy Soros Fellow, Khalil is currently pursuing a JD / MBA at Yale Law School and Harvard Business School.
Michael Anderson, Director of Undergraduate Operations (2015-2016)
Michael is a Senior at Stanford pursuing a BS in Science, Technology, & Society. He is the past president and founder of the Stanford Undergraduate Veterans Association (SUVA), as well as a member of the South Carolina Air National Guard, having spent the past five years as a crew chief on F-16’s. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge of the transfer process having formerly helped guide veterans to undergraduate admission at Yale, Columbia, Penn, Dartmouth, Amherst, and William.
Anna Ivey, Co-Founder
Anna grew up in Germany very close to the U.S. Army’s V Corps Abrams Complex, and worked as a film finance lawyer in Los Angeles before serving as Dean of Admissions at the University of Chicago Law School. Currently she runs an admissions consulting firm advising college, MBA, and law school applicants. Based out of Cambridge, Massachusetts, she has been working pro bono with veterans applying to college and graduate school for over a decade. Anna has a B.A. from Columbia University and a J.D. from the University of Chicago, and is the author of How to Prepare a Standout College Application (Wiley) and The Ivey Guide to Law School Admissions (Harcourt).
Tim Hsia, Co-Founder
Tim completed his undergraduate degree and was commissioned as an Infantry officer from West Point. As an officer in the US Army he served as a platoon leader, an executive officer, and a battalion logistics officer. Tim has published articles in the New York Times, Small Wars Journal, and Los Angeles Times. Tim is a Pat Tillman Scholar and graduated from Stanford’s JD/MBA program. He works at a tech startup in San Francisco and enjoys spending time with family, running, playing basketball, and reading.
