Job Description 

Position Title: Military Outreach Coordinator

Status: Full-time position, 40 hours/week; Flexible working hours

Location: Remote/Telework 

Reports to: Director of Communications and collaborate often with our staff and volunteers.

We are looking for a hard-working military outreach coordinator to join our organization to help build new relationships with local military leadership and build awareness of Service to School’s mission and support in the military community. The military outreach coordinator's goals include brainstorming potential partnerships or methods for engagement with military leadership, maintaining a calendar for outreach events, and working closely with military partners to plan and execute various outreach/presentation opportunities. 

Additionally, the role will require some versatility as it will working with other staff members to include:

  • The CEO on efforts to grow the organization’s impact to include a fundraising strategy

  • The COO on applicant and ambassador pairings

  • The Chief Communications Officer on social media content

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. You should also be skilled in using institutional databases and research methods and in handling administrative duties.

Responsibilities 

Community Relations:

  • Help compile and update contact lists of key military leadership 

  • Identify and research opportunities to share Service to School mission and services with relevant military commands, leadership, and organizations (I.e TAPs)

  • Assist with coordination of meetings with military leadership 

  • Present on or share Service to School mission and services on military installation(s)

  • Identification of potential donors

  • Drafting written communications

Miscellaneous Communications and Administrative Support:

  • Provide input on presentation content 

  • Report preparation for meetings and presentations

  • Meeting planning and coordination

  • General administrative and communications support as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • Strong industry knowledge and broad professional network.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Strong organizational and management skills.

  • Experience with institutional databases, public access sites, and primary research skills.

  • Good reporting, technical, and statistical skills.
