John’s Veteran applicant shared some inspiring words on the impacts of his mentorship: “It has meant absolutely everything. What I needed most was an extra set of eyes to help me edit admission essays for 6 different universities. I was having trouble trying to translate all of my military experience in a way that schools and civilians could easily understand. Even though John was also a full time graduate student, he still made the time to edit and give me feedback on which direction to go in. He did this numerous times over the course of a few months. His efforts helped me get acceped into 5/6 universities. I had offers from Yale, Johns Hopkins, Columbia, George Washington, and CSU Long Beach.” – Barry Sullivan, Johns Hopkins University, Fall 2023
