Patrick Randall

A Maine native, Patrick graduated from Tufts University in 2008 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army. After attending the Infantry and Airborne Schools at Ft. Benning, GA, he received orders to Ft. Bragg, NC, where he passed Special Forces Assessment and Selection. Upon earning his Green Beret, he was assigned to 1st Special Forces Group in Okinawa, Japan. He served on an Operational Detachment-Alpha (ODA) for three years, deploying to Afghanistan and throughout the Asia-Pacific. He left the Army in 2014 to attend Simmons College, where he received a Master of Science in Library and Information Science. He now lives outside Boston and works for MITRE Corporation as an Information Analyst.

Patrick’s Veteran applicant shared some inspiring words on the impacts of his mentorship: “I started applying to colleges in mid-December, which we all know is when most families are preparing for family events, travel, and the holiday season.
