Winston Harris II
Winston has served in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for over 13 years. In 2016 he transitioned to the US Navy Reserves and deployed in 2019 to the Horn of Africa, where he earned his Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist designation. He currently serves in the US Navy Reserves and is attached to Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment out of Madison, WI as a Senior Line Corpsman. At the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point (UWSP) he majored in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Business Administration. Winston earned his Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant (PA) studies from the South College - Nashville PA program. Winston is interested in diversity in medicine, patient-centered care, servant leadership, and patient advocacy. When he’s not studying or spending time with his two boys, he’s listening to podcasts on 2x speed, working out, or trail running.

Fun Fact About Yourself? All my younger siblings have joined the Navy after me as an ENM1, IT2, and HT3.

Why did you decide to volunteer with Service to School? I didn't have much support navigating the journey to becoming a PA. I hope to make it easier for others who are on a similar journey.
How has your experience as an Ambassador been? I've enjoyed being able to connect with service members who had different military experiences than mine but ended up with the same goal.
Winston’s advice to veterans considering pursuing higher education?
Write down the goals you have for when you complete your education. Take time to ensure your actions continue to align with those goals. If realize they aren't, it's okay to make course corrections toward your desired purpose.
