Khalil grew up in Gilbert, Arizona and is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He commissioned in the infantry and deployed several times to Afghanistan during his military service.

A Pat Tillman Scholar and Paul and Daisy Soros Fellow, Khalil holds a JD from Yale Law School and an M.A. from the American University in Cairo (Fulbright Scholarship). Khalil is formerly the founder and CEO of Umi Kitchen, a venture-backed consumer technology startup, and is currently the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Development at iHeartMedia, America’s #1 Audio Media company.
