Service to School Welcomes Two New Members to Board of Directors

Service to School Announces Kaleth Wright and Hillary Browning as the newest members to join its Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 15, 2024)—Service to School (S2S) proudly announces the addition of Kaleth Wright and Hillary Browning as the two newest members of the Board of Directors effective June 2024.

Service to School CEO, Alec Emmert, is thrilled to have Kaleth and Hillary on the Board of Directors. "Frankly, I'm in awe of the fact that we have a former Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force on our Board. His experience leading in the service at the very highest levels and building mission-driven non-profits is such a huge asset to our organization," Alec shared. "It's also fantastic to have Hillary on the Board. She's known Service to School in every capacity; as an undergrad and a Law School applicant, a full-time member of our staff, and now on our Board. This experience has given fantastic insight into how we can grow our impact by serving our applicants."

Kaleth Wright is an organizational leadership consultant, executive coach and professional speaker with an outstanding track record of helping organizations to achieve peak performance. A 32-year Veteran of the United States Air Force, Kaleth served as the 18th Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force representing the highest enlisted level of leadership where he provided direction and represented the interests of the enlisted force to the American public and to leaders at all levels of government.

Wright earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Maryland’s global campus and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He studied executive leadership in distinguished programs at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government Center for Public Leadership, Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business, Howard University’s School of Business as well as the Center For Creative Leadership and the Department of Defense National Defense University.

"I'm extremely excited about joining the S2S Board of Directors and helping advance the mission of helping veterans gain admissions to the best schools available in the nation,” Kaleth said. “As a veteran former Air Force senior leader, I believe S2S is critical to helping veterans who are passionate about education, fulfill their dreams and become the best version of themselves."

Hillary Browning started working with Service to School as an undergraduate applicant in 2016, then transitioned to being an ambassador for other enlisted veterans. She worked for Service to School as a staff member from 2020-22. Now, as a student at Yale Law School, she continues to serve as an ambassador and a Board member.

She enlisted in the Navy as a Mass Communications Specialist. Following her service, she earned her undergraduate degree from Yale University, and is a current student veteran attending Yale Law School. Hillary participates in two veteran-focused clinics at Yale Law School, offering free legal services to the local military community.

“It’s undeniable that Service to School changed my life, my husband’s life, and the lives of our children,” Hillary shared. “Without my S2S ambassador I wouldn’t have had the courage to apply to highly selective schools. Nine years later I’ve graduated from Yale College (so did my husband!), attend Yale Law School and am a Tillman Scholar. Service to School helped me to believe in myself and I want to pass along that gift to as many veterans as possible. I’m excited to bring an enlisted perspective to the board, help shape the future of Service of School, and watch the organization grow even stronger.”
