Texas A&M Expands Outreach to Veterans and Service Members Through New Partnership
Texas A&M University is proud to announce its partnership with Service to School (S2S), joining other select institutions in expanding transitioning service member awareness of the opportunities in quality undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered by its institution.
“We are especially proud to welcome Texas A&M as our newest VetLink partner,” said Jim Selbe, Chief Operating Officer of Service to School. “Texas A&M has a long and distinguished history of educating future military leaders and returning service members and we look forward to introducing student veterans to the vast resources provided by the Don & Ellie Knauss Veteran Resource & Support Center.”
What makes Texas A&M University the destination of choice for veteran success?
An institution deeply rooted with military history and rich with tradition, Texas A&M provides military affiliated students a familiar feeling in a new environment. This is reflected in our Aggie core values – Respect, Excellence, Loyalty, Leadership, Integrity and Selfless Service – which closely mirror those of our nation’s military and solidifies their choice to attend Texas A&M.
“Texas A&M University is the perfect environment for transitioning veterans.
It maintains the same tradition and comradery cultivated in the military, while also enabling the individuality and self-discovery needed to succeed beyond academia.”
-Mitch Craddock, Student Veteran, Management
Since 1919, Texas A&M University has dedicated resources to serving student veterans which have continued to grow immensely over the last century. In addition to the Don & Ellie Knauss Veteran Resource & Support Center, the Veteran Services Office, VA VSOC and VITAL representatives, and the multiple campus inter-departmental partnerships, the university has one of the few dedicated Military Admissions departments in the country.
As a Tier 1 Research Institution, Texas A&M’s programs provide unique and coveted educational opportunities and experiences that complement its top notch education. The Military Admissions department is dedicated to assisting all military affiliated students in their efforts to gain admission into the program of their choice and provide guidance on pathways to their long-term educational goals, such as one of the premiere graduate or professional programs also offered by Texas A&M.
Once admitted to Texas A&M, a transitioning service member has access to the vast resources available through the institution. With an operational model of “Application to Vocation”, transitioning service member support starts at the prospective student stage and continues through post-graduation employment, providing resources for every aspect of holistic veteran success.
If you or a service member you know is transitioning and looking to obtain their higher education degree, encourage them to seek the no-cost services of Service to School.
“We are excited about this opportunity and are looking forward to enhancing the lives of our country’s veterans by increasing the student veteran population at Texas A&M University through the introductions provided by our Service to Schools partnership.”
