Fun Fact About Yourself: We unknowingly grew up within an hour of each other, joined the military the same year. We were in boot camp together and one class away from each other in Corpsman school. We only met because both our best friends got married to each other. 

Intended Major: Comparative Human Development & Global Studies

What did you do in the military? We were both Corpsman in the Navy

What was your proudest accomplishment in the military? Being healthcare providers for service members

How did you hear about S2S? Warrior Scholar Project

What was the best part of S2S for you? Getting expert advice and connections to the schools we were interested in

Why did you decide to pursue college? We choose to pursue college because We wanted to better ourselves academically and create new opportunities for ourselves

How has the transition been from the military to civilian life? Tyler is still currently Active Duty. Allie’s transition has been great although the current pandemic has greatly changed Allie’s day to day life she is still able to give back by homeschooling the children of Veterans.

What are you most excited about in regard to starting college/the school you are going to attend? We are excited to be challenged academically and contribute to the research being conducted in our fields of interest. 

What’s your favorite part about the school you chose to matriculate at? University of Chicago’s rigorous academics and dedication to freedom of speech

What advice would you give to future applicants? Don’t ever let anyone make you feel like you’re annoying when you are pursuing your desired future

What are your goals post-graduation? We are undecided but We both want to give back to the education system and veterans either through non-profits, working as teachers, or as administrators in the educational field.
